Dr. Sheena Hunt

Biography

Dr. Sheena Hunt is a West Virginia native from Seneca Rocks. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Marshall University. Dr. Hunt earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2012 and practiced for a year in Huntsville, Alabama before returning to Elkins.

Personal Associations and Hobbies

Dr. Hunt is a member of the American Optometric Association and a member of the West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians. She is a member of the Elkins Rotary Club and  is also very involved at her church in Elkins.

In her free time, Dr. Hunt enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. She is thrilled to be back in her home state providing the highest level of care to the wonderful people of West Virginia.

In her training, Dr. Hunt received many well rounded experiences including training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida where she gained valuable experience with glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and various other ocular diseases.

She learned from some of the nation’s leading neuro-ophthalmologists, anterior segment specialists, ocular oncologists, glaucoma specialists, and retinal specialists. She also gained valuable experience in pediatric optometry and the treatment of amblyopia and other visual disorders affecting children UAB Eye Care Pediatric and Vision Therapy Clinic.
